What Lifting Straps Should You Use and When?

By Ken Nowicki February 06, 2018

What Straps Should You Use?

We make a wide range of straps. All kinds of different shapes and sizes, so it can be hard to know what's best for you and you need for which exercise/event. So let's clear this up.

ELITE LIFTING STRAPS - these are the standard shape, style and size (21.5" long and 1.5" wide) made from nylon. They are super strong and will not tear or split. They are the best all round strap and can be used for almost any exercise - Shrugs, Deadlifts, Bent Over Rows, Pull Ups or Pull Downs, Single Arm Dumbbell Rows and more. Great for a beginner all the way up to a pro strongman.

DUAL-PLY COTTON LIFTING STRAPS - these are the same shape and style as the Elite Lifting straps but are made from two layers of heavy duty cotton canvas - this makes them very comfortable and still very strong. They are thicker and longer then our Elite lifting straps so the are great if you have bigger wrist and hands and if you are using thicker bars but they  can be used for almost any exercise Shrugs, Deadlifts, Car Deadlift, Axle Bar Deadlift, Bent Over Rows, Pull Ups or Pull Downs. They make a great all round strap for strongman in particular.

AXLE BAR ELITE LIFTING STRAPS - Same shape and style as standard straps but extra big for thick bars! They are a massive 29" long and 2" wide and are made for from nylon, super strong and will not tear or split. Designed for strongman Axle deadlift but are also great for big hands and wrists.

ELITE FIGURE 8 LIFTING STRAPS - Made from heavy duty cotton canvas that has special weaving for maximum durability and is rated to 600kgs with an industrial strength sewn loop. These are perfect for max rep or max weight deadlift and take away grip fatigue so your hands will not fail you. They come in 4 different wrist sizes to fit all wrist sizes.

OLYMPIC LIFTING STRAPS - Ultra strong nylon webbing sewn into a single closed loop with a shorter length. These are favoured by olympic weightlifters they are quick-releasing and are safest/best option for movements like the snatch which require a fast release when a bar is overhead and balance is lost. perfect for clean and jerk, snatch or any variation of these movements.
